Charles Mugabe is the former Chief Investment Officer of Agaciro Development Fund (Rwanda’s Sovereign Wealth Fund). He joined the Fund in November 2016 with a wealth of progressive knowledge and experience of around 20+ years (10 of which at senior managerial positions-director/C-suit and above) within national governments and private entities particularly in financial management, strategy and leadership, planning, accounting and management. Prior to that, Charles worked as the Director of Finance at Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) from October 2013 to October 2016. Charles has also been a lecturer at university. Charles was one of the key staff members of the Fund (AgDF) who spearheaded its admission to CROSAPF (Co-investment Round Table of Sovereign and Pension Funds), a global practical platform of sovereign and pension funds. Charles also serves/served at various boards including, Development Bank of Rwanda (BRD-former board member representing AgDF for three years), Africa Olleh Services ltd (former board Chairperson), Prime Economic Zones ltd (current board Chairperson),Defense Captive Insurance Company (DCIC) ltd - current board vice person and Rwanda Farmers Coffee Company ltd (former Board member). Charles is an ACCA qualified finance professional (ACCA-Fellow) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) of Rwanda. Charles is also both a Chartered Risk Analyst (CRA®) and a Fellow of the Global Academy of Finance and Management (FGAFM)-USA. Charles holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), specializing in Finance and Investment Management, which he obtained from the University of Wales, Cardiff (UK). Charles has done various executive leadership training programs with CRESTCOM International, and John Maxwell of the United States.
